In 2024, we debuted the first European Comedy x Edinburgh Fringe Awards. You can read about last year’s winners here. And this year we are doing it again! Performers and producers can win and/or be shortlisted in one of two categories — Best European Comedy Performer of the Fringe and Best European Comedy Show of the Fringe.  

The aim of the award is to showcase comedic talent that grew within the European comedy scene to expose them to more performance opportunities around the world — Europe, the UK, and beyond.

Winners will receive:

• Paid performance opportunities in Barcelona in conjunction with the Comedy Clubhouse (flights + lodging included)
• Performance slot at the Barcelona Fringe Festival
• Laurel for future promotional materials

Criteria:

• • Must have started comedy in Europe (>2 years) or have been based in Europe while performing (>2 years) or be currently based in Europe (>1 year)

• Best Performer: Only solo shows (>45 minutes) will be considered.

• Best Show: Solo, split, or format shows will be considered.

• Shows and performers will be shortlisted and awarded based on:
  • Writing
  • Creativity
  • Stage presence
  • Diversity
  • Is it fun and/or meaningful?
